I recently had to choose between running or another knee surgery. I gave up running, but I was new to it anyway. Walking instead is working out ok for me but I know it would be hard for an actual runner.
It sounds like you "run"??? So do I. LOVE IT! Have a partially torn acl in my right knee that will most likely COMPLETELY rip...esp. if I continue to run. My take: you can't "not" do something for fear of what "could" happen. Otherwise, we might never get in our car and drive down the road! My husband just went through this raging mental battle with himself over his wrist. two bones rubbing together causing pain...decreasing his quality of life. He also found it hard to look at long term. However, he did finally have the surgery, with the hope (that's about all we have when it comes down to it) that it would work. His only other choice was to continue to suffer...really not an alternative. The surgery helped, but as he had been warned, he might have to have another. Not sure if any of this helped...prob sounds like just a bunch of "jibber jabber". I "hope" and pray you make the choice right for you. If you get a chance, stop by for a chat...:)
aww, i hope you get better soon. i dont run, so i really dont know the dangers of it. my mom had rubbed her cartilage raw a few years ago, so i know how painful it can be.
I would hate to have it in the summer b/c then you won't be able to get in the water, but I'm not having to live with the pain either so what do I know? Hope it all works out for you!

Oy! I wish I could help and give some light on it. You know I would help in any way I can!
Good luck with your decision, I know that's a tough one!
