Did the Costco thing yesterday, and you are right...never cheap! I am always trying to save more grocery money, then I get lazy and buy shrimp or steak...

I do a weekly menu and then try and keep in line with the things on sale.

We're both unemployed here, and we still eat well. The Mister is the shopper, he scans all the ads and buys stuff in bulk if the price is really good.

Like ground round for $1.99 - we're gonna buy 15 pounds of it, divide it by the pound, and freeze it. Same with boneless chicken or pork chops.

We usually only buy food that's on sale - so you scan the ads, and come up with a menu for the week. If we grill chicken, some can be eaten right off the grill, some can be saved to be put into a salad or fajitas or chicken tacos later in the week.

We belong to a produce co-op that allows to get about $40 worth of produce for $23 - so we incorporate that into our meals (we don't know ahead of time what we're getting, so it can be a challenge).

We live frugally, we don't eat out often at all. Leftovers are usually eaten for lunch the next day.

It CAN be done! You have to think of it like a game, and you CAN win!
